Many women have various body problems, especially those who experience bleeding after sexual intercourse but don’t know what is happening. Typically, bleeding after sexual intercourse in women could be caused by some gynecological diseases, such as pelvic inflammatory disease.
1. Cervical Polyps
Cervical polyps develop when the cervix is stimulated by chronic inflammation for a long time. One or more stalked granulation tissues grow at the cervix, resembling soybean sprouts and sometimes even fingers. The polyps are tender and easily bleed when touched. The bleeding is usually bright red.
2. Cervical Cancer
Bleeding after sex is the earliest symptom. Due to numerous small blood vessels and fragile tissue in the cancer lesion, the capillaries bleed because of injury and rupture after every sexual intercourse. If cancer develops further, it is even more likely to bleed.
3. Endometriosis
Endometriosis grows inside the cervix, in a bluish-purple lump. If you touch this bluish-purple lump during sex, it will cause bleeding. The bleeding volume is generally small, and the color is dark red, with discomfort often occurring the next day.
4. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
Pelvic inflammatory disease can cause pelvic congestion. If the uterus is congested and swollen, intercourse can cause congestion. However, this opportunity is rare.
5. Cervicitis (Erosion)
Ninety percent of married women have cervicitis. Cervicitis is divided into three degrees according to the degree of cervical erosion: mild, moderate, and severe. Moderate cervical erosion, sexual intercourse, and male penis rubbing against the cervix can cause injury and bleeding. As the bleeding volume is small and does not flow immediately but accumulates in the vagina, the blood color changes from fresh to old. Therefore, when it flows out the next day, the blood appears dark red.
