Herpes that occurs in the genital area is called genital herpes. The appearance of genital herpes can pose a threat to the health of the reproductive organs. However, if treated early, the treatment time can be greatly reduced, so it is necessary to understand its symptoms.
1. Primary Herpes Simplex
Primary genital herpes is divided into primary genital herpes and non-primary genital herpes. Primary genital herpes is the first time infection of HSV, and the condition is more severe. In the past, some patients had HSV-1 infection (mainly oral or facial herpes), and then infected with HSV-2. The first appearance of genital herpes is the first occurrence of non-primary genital herpes, and the condition is relatively mild.
(1) The incubation period is 3 to 14 days.
(2) Clusters or scattered water blisters appear on the external genitalia or anus, and 4 days later they become erosions or ulcers, causing pain.
(3) Swollen and tender lymph nodes in the inguinal region.
(4) Patients may have systemic symptoms such as fever, headache, and fatigue.
(5) The course of the disease is less than 3 weeks.
2. Recurrent Genital Herpes
Recurrent genital herpes has milder systemic symptoms and skin lesions than primary genital herpes. The course of the disease is shorter than the systemic symptoms and skin lesions of primary genital herpes after regression of the skin lesions.
The main results are as follows:
(1) There is a burning sensation, tingling sensation, or abnormal sensation before the rash appears.
(2) Small water blisters appear on the external genitalia or anus, which quickly rupture and form erosions or shallow ulcers with mild symptoms.
(3) The course of the disease is less than 10 days or 7 days.
